Committee Plans 28th Annual Marie Selby Botanical Gardens' Orchid Ball "Out of Africa"

(Sarasota, FL – March 2, 2009): Plans are under way for the 28th Annual Marie Selby Botanical Gardens’ Orchid Ball on Saturday, April 4, 2009.  The black tie event, themed ‘Out of Africa,’ includes cocktails, dinner and dancing in a safari-inspired tent and silent auction featuring exotic and unusual orchids.  Catering by Michael’s On East will feature South African wines.  Music will be provided by the popular Sarasota band My Friend Scott.  The event is co-chaired by Emily Walsh Parry and Karin Parry Leereveld.

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a respected center for research and education as well as a famous orchid showplace.  The Gardens are located at 811 South Palm Avenue in Sarasota.
