[Sarasota, FL, July 8, 2011]: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is please to present the 6th Annual Selby Instructors’ Summer Showcase. This exhibit and sale takes place in In the Museum of Botany & the Arts at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens from now through – October 2, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
As one of America’s most renowned botanical gardens, Selby Gardens offers horticultural classes throughout the year on various plant care and gardening related subjects. Selby also offers fun and diverse classes guaranteed to simulate your creative side. In addition to the prestigious Academy of Botanical Arts which offers a certificate program in Botanical Illustration, additional class subjects include Beading, Creative Writing, Gyotaku (fish prints), Ikebana (flower arranging), Nature Printing, Paper-making, Photography, Sumi-e, Tai Chi, Watercolor Painting, Wreath-making, Yoga, and more.
This annual exhibit and sale showcases the artwork of many of Selby’s talented instructors and gives you a preview of the fun and interesting experiences waiting for you at the Gardens each week. On many of the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. throughout the exhibit, you may have a chance to visit with one of the instructors and find out more about their classes.
