Selby’s majestic banyan grove provides a relaxing setting for GartenFest, a Sunday music series in October with a Bavarian twist. Bring a folding chair or lawn blanket and enjoy festive refreshments and performances by local talent (no coolers please).
Scheduled Performers
October 7: Yesterdayze, a high energy, six-piece band with great vocals, recreating your favorite songs from the 60’s. Visit Yesterdayze website for band info, sample audio, and video of past performances.
October 14: The Venturas, the popular and well-loved local band playing rock, pop, R&B, and country. Visit the Venturas website for more information
October 21: Sarasota Brass Quintet, one of the best-known ensembles of the Sarasota Orchestra. The group’s concerts include a mix of standard quintet literature and pops selections ranging from the clarion sounds of the Baroque period to contemporary jazz.
October 28: Nu Jazz, a contemporary jazz band from the Sarasota/Bradenton area.
GartenFest is catered by Local Coffee + Tea.
Menu items include:
Burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, grilled portabella mushrooms, bratwurst from Transatlantic Sausage Company with sauerkraut. A variety of German beers, including Beck's and St. Pauli Girl will be served as well as Local Coffee + Tea's very own Selby Select Rooibos tea.
