Imaging Small Orchid Flowers

Dr. Daniel Geiger will show how to take images of small to minute orchid flowers. Techniques covered will be SLR macrophotography, stereomicroscope imaging and z-stacking, and scanning electron microscopy. 

Daniel L. Geiger, Ph.D., a professional microscopist and photographer, runs the electron microscopy facility at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. He does natural history and scientific imaging using a range of techniques and equipment. He is author of a book chapter on scientific photography, grows miniature orchids in a terrarium and a small greenhouse, and is a member of the Orchid Society of Santa Barbara.
