November 21 - February 27
Opening November 21, a new art exhibit in the Museum of Botany & the Arts, will demonstrate two artists’ fascination with Selby Gardens and its plants. Tropical Splendor will feature distinct perspectives in garden painting by the UK’s Anna Mason and Tom Stephens of Sarasota. Their styles represent a broad range of interpretation – from grand vistas to detailed close-ups – all depicting beloved Selby scenes and plant specimens.
The exhibit’s opening reception begins at 5:30 pm on November 21st and is open to the public.
The artists will lead two gallery walk ‘n talk tours on Monday, November 25th at 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Due to limited space, advance registration is required by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mason, who has won numerous awards and accolades for her vibrant expression of plants, will conduct a two-day watercolor workshop Orchids: Jewels of the Rainforest on November 22 & 23. Visit the calendar at www.selby.org for more details.
