Plant Societies of Southwest Florida

With a dazzling array of cultivated and native plants in southwestern Florida, the Sarasota and Bradenton area is justifiably rich with plant societies. These groups of plant fans are vital to growing an interest in and teaching us the wonders of native plants, tropical flowering and foliage plants, rare fruits and nuts, and many more. The following is a list of those that meet at Selby Gardens, but the links will lead you to other southwestern plant society meeting places and more information. Joining one of these groups is a great way to learn about and socialize with others dedicated to the green world.

Meetings at Selby Gardens begin at 7:30 p.m. and typically last 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Benefits of being a member include free plants or bargain plant raffles, annual social events and plant sales, and informative lectures by experts from the area and around the world.
