Brazil: Tropical Plant Science & Conservation Projects

Floristics and Economic Botany of Acre, Brazil. Selby botanists are taking part in a project to produce a checklist of Acre State, Brazil, by writing the chapters on Bromeliaceae and Myrtaceae. An expedition was conducted in 2003 with a second one scheduled for Fall 2004. The project is organized by the New York Botanical Garden and the Federal University of Acre, and funded through the National Science Foundation.
