Little Sprouts
Little Sprout’s Club - (Preschoolers)
“All my life through, the new sights of Nature made me rejoice like a child.” - Marie Curie
Children are born with an insatiable curiosity about their world and a yearning to explore and experience its wonders. Selby Gardens gives children a wonderful opportunity to nurture that natural inquisitiveness with Little Sprouts; a fun, interactive program for preschoolers and their caregivers. Hundreds of families participate in this delightful program designed to stimulate young imaginations, engage curiosity, and encourage early development of a lifelong love and respect for nature. The Little Sprouts Program is a family-friendly way to enjoy the beauty of the Gardens.
Calling all nature lovers! The theme for September 2011 – May 2012 is “Garden Critters.” Bring your Little Sprout to see the Garden’s many critters. Learn about the animals that call Selby Gardens their home and the plants that host them. Creatures are everywhere you look so open your eyes and ears to discover all the wild things at Selby Gardens! Each session offers story-time, a lawn game, nature-themed arts & crafts and a featured plant. This program does not require reservations, is rain or shine and is free with adult admission and to members. Many attendees stay afterwards to walk the paths, feed the Koi, run and play on the Great Lawn, and picnic under the banyan trees.
The Little Sprouts Club is free for members and children, while adult non-members pay a $17 admission fee. Sessions are on the first Tuesday of the month, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., from September through May and are held under the Banyans.
